Spoiled Kitties

Well....Batman escaped again last night. Our little prison that we have designed didn't do to well in the windstorm that we had a few weeks ago. Unknownst to us he must have been getting in and out.....well Sheldon fixed it after he came back in last night around 3:00 AM. So needless to say....we were not happy campers today and kept Batman awake as much as possible. Though he is pretty funny when you try....just like a little baby...he loves his sleep.

So in honor of knowing that my cats are terribly spoiled....and nothing is going to change. I made a Bella card with an image Deb sent me. The b/w background paper and orange cardstock are all scraps.

Thanks for listening to my story....I am glad my creativity is coming back. Jennie

Oreo and the Screen Cleaner

My sister in law sent me this really cute link this morning. Well, Batman's eyes became very big and Oreo decided to check it out. It was pretty funny. Luckily for me my camera was right next to her. So I took a few pics. Thanks for looking. Jennie

One More Recycled Card

I am having fun with the recycled card ideas. Especially with not being able to buy any new toys. I took this kitty from an advert from something about additives in cat food. I thought the inside I would say...that I look like a girl. LOL I thought the kitty looks like Rocky but couldn't resist putting the flower in his hair.

Meow

Well, you can tell who my favorite kitty is....Rocky! Actually I love them all...but Rocky photographs the best. He has so many different colors in his fur and that works better than all black.

This card I made after seeing the new PaperCrafts magazines about creating cards with photos. They had a similar photo in theirs with a puppy.....even with the ribbon. Though instead of using rubons I just edited my photo in photoshop.

I actually stole the ribbon from Oreo. She went and had a hair cut yesterday.

Thanks for looking.....Jennie

Fun Cards

Hi, Today was a boring day. Sheldon has been put on a bland diet....I guess he decided to bring back some not fun bugs from Tunisia. The doctors first gave him some antiboitics...and they worked for a bit. But now he has been put on a clear liquid diet for 24-36 hours and then he will be on the BRAT diet (Bannanas, Rice, Apples & Toast). I wasn't very nice. I made myself a roast beef sandwich yesterday. It was yummy. And he looked very pitiful eating his vegetable broth.

We had a lazy day....we watched Sponge Bob and napped. LOL Tonight is more productive. I hate being a night owl. I can stay up to 2-3 and get tons done...but during the day I can be a slug.

Here is a card that I have made. From the cat Birthday Card.

One More Swap Down...and don't tell the cats

Hi, I joined a puppy dog swap. :) I love dogs...growing up we always had animals and usually it was both dogs and cats. It wasn't until I was living on my own and in apartments that I just had cats. Though I have to admit...I have known Rocky for a long time. I bought him for my birthday back in 1996, right after I moved back to Washington from California. That means he will be 12 this year. I should find his baby picture. He was the cutest cat.

But back to point....we are talking about dogs. :) I bought a clear stamp set from cddollarstamps the other day. Actually I bought 9 sets for $25.00 including shipping. That was a pretty good deal. One set was a kitty set on sale for $2.00. I couldn't beat that. I have been wanting to get a dog set, especialy since my mother-in-law works with animals. I would like to send her a set of cards.

I might actually use the idea I came up for with this swap today. I made 6 different cards but used the exact same supplies and pieces. I cut everything out and then decided to figure out how to put it together. LOL I wish I was someone who drew sketches and planned everything out because it would be nice to know that I wasn't going to have a huge mess on my hands. But I don't. So the final outcome is always a surprise...not always a pleasant one either.
The long weekend is over...back to the real world tomorrow. :) I already have 2 tests for school and a job interview. I never heard back from the University on the part-time job. This new job is with a bank. I had called in a few weeks ago on another opening, which had been filled. But she had me send in my resume and she called me last week to let me know they had another opening. I am excited. Wish me luck.

Hope you'll have a great week. Jennie

My Kitties are Famous

My friend Sue sent me a drawing of my kitties. She didn't have a great picture of the 3 of them to work with but she definitely captured their spirit. She did an amazing job. Almost too good, yesterday they kept looking at me with that mischievous looks on their faces. It was eerie.

I appreciate it so much, the time and effort she put into the drawing. I am going to go and frame it.

Thanks again, Sue!

Couple of new items....

Well I have been working on a project...which I cannot post on here. :) It is for a family member and they might look. LOL (Probably not.) IT took me 3 days to make and I haven't been making much of anything else. But the other night I decided to start on my dominos for a domino swap. Well they weren't coming out very well. But a fellow scrapper is doing a different project and put up some websites to check out. Which I did and found some great ideas.

So I have 5 dominos made so far. We need to send out 4 in the swap...so I might make a few more. Plus make a kitty one for myself.
Then I received some cool dog images from a friend. :) I used one to make a card for Jordan. Now I will need to make jared a different card.

Pencils & Inks, Oh My!

Hi,

I am pretty excited. I went to Michael's the other day and Prismas were on sale. I hard a hard time trying to decide between the 12 or 24 pack...However, I went for the 24. Yeah. :)

The same day my SU black ink came in. I am pretty excited...I am able to use my large stamps without killing my hands. One of my PC MB friends told me that it was pretty sad to be excited over ink and pencils...but that is the world we live in.
Here are the 2 cards that I created....I have some smearing on them. So don't look at that. Both stamps are Penny Black.

Last But Not Least...Fat Cat Series

I love the Fat Cat stamp. I want to use it on everything. :) It reminds me so much of Rocky. I have made 3 cards so far as part of a series. I sent one to my PCM friend because she had admired it. The other 2 I don't want to send off....yet.

I guess the first one isn't a fat cat...but he looks like Rocky when he was a baby. :) He had me fooled into thinking that he was going to be a short haired kitty. Not so.....

No one agrees with me...but the background is supposed to be seaweed. I initially used my watercolor pencils and blender pen to make the background. Then I started filling in with a black pen. I thought it turned out nice. Then because I didn't know what to do with it...I decided to cut it into sections and that is how I came up with the idea for the backgrounds.

I want to make a series similar to the Gnome ones seen on TV.

New Stamps & New Cards

Hi...

I went crazy....well maybe not literally. But, I saw a set of stamps on eBay...and just had to have them. I waited a day. Then I looked...they were still available....they were buty it nows...I took the plunge and bought them. So I have my Christmas gift a bit early this year.

But...they are so cute. All Penny Black...and all kitties. I paid for them on Friday night and received them today. WOW....2 days. That is pretty good. So tonight I decided to play with them. They are a little hard to get clear impressions...but are worth it.

The Rest of the Daily Challenges

Hi Again,

Yesterday's challenge was hosted by nermalski. She wanted us to create something to do with time. Luckily for me our clock had died and I had told Sheldon I wanted to save the parts. He thinks I am a pack rat. However, I did use the parts in less than a month.
Then, today's challenge was hosted by Midweststamper. She wanted us to create a collage. I wasn't sure what I was going to make. Then I saw a cassette tape holder on Sheldon's desk. I stole it from him. Sunshine had made a collage out of a tin and it made me think of creating something 3d like the diorama's that I used to make in grade school. I used Rocky as my inspiration. He drives me crazy. But he is still my baby.

Daily Card Challenge

At PaperCrafts Magazine's website we have started a daily card challenge for anyone who wants to partcipate. Each day a new person creates a different challenge. It has only be going on since Sunday...but everyone seems to like the idea. It has been fun and really helped my creativity and getting out of my comfort zone.

Here are some of my cards.

Sunday's challenge was posted by stampcrazymom and it was using Turqoise/Cocoa brown/Orange. I ended up making 2 cards. Sending her one of them.

Then on Monday, Cheryl posted her challenge and it was create something in red/white/black. I only made one card for that one.

One Tuesday, Fluffnstuff did a monochromatic card challenge. I made 2 cards for that one.

I am going to have to post the other ones on another post.....Not able to do all the pictures together.

Latest Creations

I haven't been feeling too creative lately. I have been really tired. 2-3 hour naps a day isn't good. But it is pretty bad when I am still wanting to go to bed at a decent time. Usually if I nap I hardly ever sleep.

I joined a kitty swap contest...the hostess sent each of us the images and then we get to create using them. It is fun to see what everyone else comes up with.

I created a photo frame using canvas. It is 8x8 and I also used some beads. I scraplifted it from an advertisement in a magazine.

I joined a Hello Friend Summer Card RAK. Here are a couple of the cards that I made.

Here is also the card I made for my Summer Secret Sister. I was trying to make something different from what I normally do....It is cute

Not too much going on. Sheldon is gone for the day so I think I will see if I can get creative.

Pet Lover's Swap

This swap turned out FANTASTIC. Everyone who participated created such amazing cards. The orignal premise of this was to give cards from you to your pet....but it turned out to also be from your pet to you....pretty easy. My Goal was to do 50/50 between kitties and dogs and it turned out well.
Thank you to the following swappers for making this great:

  • Fgrif

  • Donna2257

  • Beaglelover

  • 40isFun

  • Janice W

  • Kenzlane

  • 2for2

  • jennie_hi (hostess)

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday was our doctor's appointment....Yeah. Though I hate going to the doctor. My blood pressure is doing pretty good. It was down when he took it and then today I took it and it was 115/73. So exercise must be helping. I have one more Doctor's appointment in a month and then we are going to be officially trying. :)
My online weight loss group is creating scrapbook pages each member and sharing them with each other....since we are all in this journey together. So I had Sheldon snap my picture yesterday.
Then while we were taking pics of the birds....I snapped one of him and the "Princess" Oreo. I notice today that we were matching....Yikes we are married.

Where is Batman?

I noticed that we had pics of Rocky & Oreo....but none of Batman. I didn't want him to feel left out.....as if he would notice....but last night we decided to give him his own little photo op....
And because he is mostly black with a little bit of white he doesn't photograph as well as Rocky....who was lying on the bed looking all cute and cuddly....if you don't know the story...his real name is Rocky Road (Ice Cream).
So we took a few of each of them.....

A Day in the Life of Rocky....

I have to say. Rocky has it pretty good. He usually gets fed when he wants...and as much...as much loving...even Sheldon will normally pet him when he wants...since he is normally such a mommy's boy...(Sheldon likes to stay in his good graces.)
This day was no exception....I went outside to water the veggies and in the process did a little kitty photo shoot.....He just loves the sunshine.

What a happy boy....MEOW!!!!

See Our Vegetable Garden Grow

Sheldon and I (and my mom) are amazed at how our garden is growing....I just went out this morning and the squash and zukes are blooming like crazy. The green beans aren't as much but I have eated the first bean off of it....though the kitties might be beating me to the punch.

The tomatoes and peppers are a lot smaller...but they are still doing so good. It probably helps that we screened in that area and don't have as many bugs out there.

I cannot wait to start eating all the veggies....though I will probably overwhelmed once they start to come in.
