Cupcake Trio Swap

Hi

I guess it is pretty bad when Sheldon asks why my blog hasn't been updated. hehehe

Well first, I haven't been doing anything exciting this week....besides sleeping and relaxing. It took me a lot longer to recoop than I thought. Now, I need to start getting in gear for th CKU convention in 2 weeks and finish all my swaps. I have 3 swaps left to work on, several pifs, and a couple of cards for friends. After that....I am done.

Here is one of my big ones...Cupcake Trio Swap.

My card was on TV....

Hi,

For a swap that I joined on PaperCrafts they did a story on a local TV show. Sue Neal a PC's Pro was on there.

It is about 10 minutes long but it is an interesting story.

Here are the Swap Cards

I joined a scrap/already stamped image swap and I made the following cards for it. I received the images from Deb at Sharing My Obsession. I was pretty lucky to have a bunch of scrap SU pattern paper.

I like to call it---what do a skunk, hippo and cat have in common???

This last card is a challenge card I made for today's challenge on Paper Crafts Magazine. It needed to include---teal, red, a button, and chipboard.

I completed 3 swaps in the last 2 days

WOW!!! I have been busy. Well not really. Since I didn't do too much else. I finished up two swaps to be sent to inkypingers on PC website. Let's here it for the boys & Fundie Undies swap. Then I started and finished up a swap for Just Kelli which was for a paper doll swap. (My mermaid started as a template for a cookie cutter that I found on the internet.)

Let's see if you can guess which is for which? (Which means I am too tired to separate everything.)

PS...I fixed my blog...I guess that really did mean yesterday was Friday the 13th.

New Swaps!!!

Hi,

I have actually finished 2 swaps. :) I think I have 3 more to do. So I am doing pretty good. Last night Sheldon and I went to an Eagle Scout Ceremony. I am definitely thinking that if we have a boy...he is going to become a Boy Scout. Randy was a great guy. Sheldon works with his dad and it was really nice meeting him. He is graduating this year and will be going to Georgia Tech.

So, after we did that...Sheldon and I decided last night to watch a movie. One of my normal routines while we are watching tv is to craft....drives Sheld crazy as I leave a huge mess along the way. However, I get things done when I do this.

So I decided to work on my Photo Image Card Swap. I used my picture of Rocky. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted. However, with a face like that....how bad could the card be.

Beaded ATC Swap

Hi, I am pretty excited. I love doing swaps with Katherine (dokis on PCMB Website). She always holds such fun swaps and everyone does fantastic work.

I think I have joined 4 or 5 of her swaps---one was for 4x4 collages, another one was vintage Valentine's....actually I cannot remember them all.

For her beaded swap---the only requirement was that there was beads on the atc. I did the flower lady with earrings....and it was so fun to see the variety.

Thanks again, Katherine!!! I will be looking out for more fun swaps to join. Maybe I will be on time one of these days.

PS....the self portrait swap isn't due until the end of June...so I am ahead on that one.

Self Portrait Swap

I joined a self portrait atc swap. :) I was under the false assumption that I could draw a picture of myself....LOL NOt to be. So instead I did a photo and made some changes in photoshop....it is easier to see in person than in the picture the changes.
She said we could a biography of ourselves...so instead of just doing it in the back...I made it into a little card.
Thanks for looking.

One Down!!!!

I won't even think of how many more to go. LOL A few! This was for a beaded ATC swap that I signed up for in February I think. I made one card then and just finished making earrings for it and doing the other 4 yesterday. It went into the mail this morning. Hopefully everyone likes them and they are worth being late. Thanks for looking!!!

My take on irony

I joined my friend Lori's Froggy ATC swap. We were supposed to take a frog and put him into a holiday. I decided to do Halloween...since that is her favorite holiday. Can you guess what the irony (or I guess...my joke)is???

Received Lady in Hat Swap

I have to admit...I am amazed at the cards that I received. WOW!! Mine is kind of boring...because I only seem to know how to make one. However, all of these cards are unique and different. I am going to figure out how to frame them. I love them all.

If you aren't a member of Papercrafts message board and swaps...then you are definitely missing out on a great group of women who are very caring and creative. I am very fortunate to be part of this group.

What do you think????

Hi, I sometimes make jewelry (haven't made anything in a year) and sell it on eBay. Plus, I sell cards once in awhile. Do you think someone would buy something that was a combo like this ATC??? Thanks for your opinions. I really appreciate it.

I actually have made this one for a beaded ATC swap and I will probably do something similar for the Lady in the Hat Swap. Jennie

Bunnies are multiplying!!!

I am having such fun making bunny cards. I made one for a card contest...didn't win.

Then I signed up for a swap. Didn't like the first set of cards (haven't even taken a picture of it yet). So then I tried making a prototype...like it but not for my swap.
LOL So I guess I will go back to the original stamp and see what I come up with. I better do it pretty quick though. I need to mail the swap tomorrow so it gets there by March 1st.

TFL....any suggestions? Jennie

Creativity is back...

at least for the moment. :) I hate to admit it...but I love to be under pressure. I mistakenly missed a deadline on a swap. So I had to quickly make the recipe cards and of course I am very creative when I am under pressure. I guess it is because I cannot put it off. I read the book about a month ago, but I wasn't quite sure how to make the recipe cards. I find them harder to do than regular cards. I always wantt o put cool embellishments that match--but for some reason I can never think of anything.

The other day I had printed out a picture of one of my stamping friend's dog that she put up in the gallery. I wanted to make her a card. So while watching a movie with Sheldon last night I started to get an idea. First I asked Sheldon to draw and cut me out some wings. Then I used some new bling that I received from my SS. After that I decided to find some paper to use....I wanted to keep the background simple and had to decide on whether to use the black or pink for the mat. I am glad that I used the pink behind the dog which I ran through my cuttlebug. It took me a couple of choices on which direction to place image as the wings are way too big. Then because I cut off her front feet because they looked weird, I had to cover them up and I had a great sentiment from SU that I had froma previous project.

Thanks for listening to me ramble. You can see why I keep most of my creative process under wraps.

Have a great day. Jennie

2 Down 2 To Go

Today, Sheld & I did lots of errands....and went to see Beowulf. I am glad we only spent a total of $3.00 to see it. It was pretty bad. Sorry if you like it.

After spending the day out, we came home and I started reading some of my library books....and then around 10 or so felt creative. So I started workinng on my first SCS swap.

I am pretty excited....I just joined my first (well actually 3 swaps) over at Split Coast Stampers. I am a bit nervous, but I hope everyone likes my work.

This first ATC is with the theme Circus.

This second ATC is with the theme Quilts. (Sheld doesn't think it looks like a quilt but I think it has the affect.)

Thanks for looking. Please leave me your opinion. The good, the bad, or the ugly. (I guess I am going to be Clint Eastwood tonight.) Have a great night. Jennie

Ladybug Swap

I was looking at the swap board....lol...not like I don't have enough swaps. Which I don't anymore....I just have 2 to make 2 and mail 1 I have already done...A lot better than the 17 I had to make. So...since I was looking, I decided to sign up for a Ladybug Swap. My rational is that I am already sending her one set of cards, so it is cheaper to do two.

The other day I was looking on SCS and saw a gorgeous card by Markie's Mom. I saved it into my Favorites and used it as the basis for these atc's. Here is a link to her card.

And here are my ATCs. I made them a little different. I used patterned paper for the LB and created my own sky background.

Hopefully spring is almost here. Jennie

One More Swap Down...and don't tell the cats

Hi, I joined a puppy dog swap. :) I love dogs...growing up we always had animals and usually it was both dogs and cats. It wasn't until I was living on my own and in apartments that I just had cats. Though I have to admit...I have known Rocky for a long time. I bought him for my birthday back in 1996, right after I moved back to Washington from California. That means he will be 12 this year. I should find his baby picture. He was the cutest cat.

But back to point....we are talking about dogs. :) I bought a clear stamp set from cddollarstamps the other day. Actually I bought 9 sets for $25.00 including shipping. That was a pretty good deal. One set was a kitty set on sale for $2.00. I couldn't beat that. I have been wanting to get a dog set, especialy since my mother-in-law works with animals. I would like to send her a set of cards.

I might actually use the idea I came up for with this swap today. I made 6 different cards but used the exact same supplies and pieces. I cut everything out and then decided to figure out how to put it together. LOL I wish I was someone who drew sketches and planned everything out because it would be nice to know that I wasn't going to have a huge mess on my hands. But I don't. So the final outcome is always a surprise...not always a pleasant one either.
The long weekend is over...back to the real world tomorrow. :) I already have 2 tests for school and a job interview. I never heard back from the University on the part-time job. This new job is with a bank. I had called in a few weeks ago on another opening, which had been filled. But she had me send in my resume and she called me last week to let me know they had another opening. I am excited. Wish me luck.

Hope you'll have a great week. Jennie

Brain Dead

Hi,

I have to say....school is hard. LOL I am taking 2 online classes this semester and my accounting class was getting away from me for awhile. I was studying and doing the homework but kept having the same problem on different assignments. It took me several trys to figure out what was going on--and let me tell you---my brain was fried. Once I figured it out, it was a duh moment.

So now that I am all caught up with classes. I decided to try and get caught up on swaps. I was going through my swap list and getting all organized and realized I am in 21 swaps. I guess I was a little sign up happy while Sheldon was gone. Luckily for me though I only have to complete 7 more of them.

Tonight, I finished 2. Yeah! The bug swap I had already made a set of cards, but decided I didn't like them. The other one I did tonight was Pampered ATC's. I decided to use a travel theme because that is the ultimate in pampering.

Actually, all in all, today was a busy day. Sheldon and I had our first official date night since he has been back. He suggested it, and he also suggested, making it like our first date. :) Isn't that romantic. We actually had our first date on December 27, 2002 and we went and saw 2 Week Notice and had Thai food for dinner. So today, we went and saw 27 Dresses and then ate at Fatz Cafe. (Not the same as Thai...but Sheld still isn't feeling 100%.)

Do you remember your first date with your significant other?

Take care. Jennie

A Whole lot of ATC's!

I joined an alphabet swap. I am not sure why I did it. LOL I loved the idea of seeing everyones ATC's...but wasn't looking forward to making 26.

Then on top of that I picked the letter T. There were tons of letters left at the time...and I have no idea why I picked this one. I first was going to do a time theme....with a cool collage background. But that lasted about 2 seconds.

Then I couldn't figure out what I was going to do. So when I went to HL the other day...they had CB embossing folders on sale. 30% off....I almost didn't see it...but they had the ty one there and to begin with it was $1.00 cheaper than the other ones.

So I bought that...then yesterday on SCS someone did a cool technique...and I asked her about it. She got it from someone else...Stamping Kub....and what it was doing...is inking the top part of the inside of the embossing folder...placing the paper in there...and embossing it.

I tried it....I like how it came out...very graphic and very messy. I have ink all over my leg...some on the cuttlebug that didn't come off...but it came off of the embossing folder with just a rinse. Next I used a SU stamp Thanks and dug through my letters and found that I had more than 26 T's...and used red/white paperclips to attach them.

Thanks for looking....I probably started on these around 11 last night and finshed at 1:30.

Newest creations

I thought I would post some of my creations...even if the photos didn't come out. Sheldon doesn't have Photoshop on his computer...and well...we won't go there. LOL
I just made this card for SCS Limited Supplies Challenge. No white cardstock. That wasn't too hard for me today....I have no good white left.

Here are a couple of my latest cards that I have made for swaps.

As you can probably tell. This one is for a bug swap. The coloring isn't the best. I became carried away and decided to try and outline the images....just the flower stems...yuck. I might go over it with another coat of marker...or cut out some leaves and put them on top. This was using my Marvy markers and blender pens. Not too bad. The sentiment is with the stamp that stampcrazymom sent me as a pif.
And this one is for a shoe swap. My initial plan was to make paper shoes and make cards out of them. I found a template...and cut out all of them...then realized that they were way too big. So I decided to just do this image instead. It is cute. The paper I found at Big Lots 8 sheets for $1.00. It is flocked...so it has some nice texture. I used copics for the image and used some of the gel medium.

Sorry my posts are usually so short. I usually have a cat or 2 trying to sit on my lap.

Christmas TY's and swaps completed

I have been busy...staying up too late and crafting. I now need to spend some time sending it all out. LOL

Last night I made some quick TY cards. Jess sent me these cute penquins and I knew I had to use them. I need to make a couple more...but luckily for me I still have a couple.

Earlier in the day I completed my Happy Hearts ATC Swap. Yeah.....one more down. 7 more to go.
